Next Steps...
1. After you say "God loves me" and establish that statement as "Who you are" then say "I refuse to worship any idols" (material things, career, gaming, pornography, etc.) When you have idols in your life, you may have feelings or thoughts that are connected to your idols. (At the core of these may be feelings of abandonment, rejection, loss, fear, phobias, etc.)
2. Pray for PEACE...to be released from these thoughts and feelings.
Many people try to get to a state of peace through "meditation" stemming from some religious beliefs, but there is power in prayer. Pray to God in the name of Jesus ("Dear God, in the name of Jesus...") and there is great power in that to heal your thoughts, heal your past, take away idols, etc., which leads to PEACE.
3. In the Bible, Paul, an apostle of Christ, said that he "died daily" to the things of the world. He found it necessary to pray daily to be released from the things that would separate him from his new commitment to Christ. This DAILY PRAYER will help you avoid thoughts and feelings that bring you down, and freeing your mind to focus on your new identity in Christ.
4. Get a Bible! Daily Bible reading can bring a great deal of peace to you and help you grow and mature in your commitment to Christ. If you are a new Christian, the book of John in the New Testament is a great place to start, Psalms and Proverbs are also very helpful in the Old Testament. Bibles can be found at used places, like Goodwill, at bookstores, Walmart, etc., and you might even have a Christian bookstore in your location. Churches sometimes provide free Bibles.
REMEMBER:
You are loved by God and you do not need to worship any idols.
In the Bible, God says "I am the Lord your God, thou shalt not worship any other idols."
When we accept Him as Lord and Savior, and we submit to Him and serve Him with all our heart, mind, and strength, we will have great peace, a new understanding of our purpose and our idols will fall away. We have a new focus, a new life, and a new purpose!
