Mark's story
"By the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony..."
I confessed Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior at a very young age one Sunday night at church at what was called an alter call. My dad was preaching that night and made the plea for those who would like to come forward and receive Christ in their heart and life to come forward and pray. So I did! From that time at the alter until now I have never forgotten that moment that experience and the freedom that I felt. I can still remember singing to God making up my own words and tunes at that very young age after my salvation experience. I was filled with joy.
Three years later I went forward to another alter call at a youth camp to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. I received that night and began speaking in a heavenly language, I felt like I was far way. It only felt like moments, but when I put my hands down, opened my eyes, stopped speaking in tongues and looked around, everyone was gone from the meeting. I was there for at least an hour. I am still shaken by that memory. It did not make sense. Where did time go? I am thankful for these experiences.
From that time until now I still call Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. I do my best to serve Him...I am very imperfect, but in spite of my failures I know He still calls me to come to Him. He has never failed me. He has never left me and He has never forsaken me.
I look forward to being with God and the loved ones who have passed before my time in heaven. Only by the blood of Christ may we enter in. My righteousness is but filthy rags, but His blood washes my soul as clean as fresh fallen snow. My life is imperfect and has had its ups and downs. And what Satan meant for evil God has turned for the good for His eternal purposes.
I am thankful for the prayers of my parents that have covered my life. I am thankful that He watches over me and all of us calling out to me and each of us to come to Him.
Just as I am, I come...
